oh yesss..
ive been back at the Scottish Sculpture Workshop developing my lego guy army... ive now moved from Bronze to slip casting and handmade clay nuggetz! the larger lego guy has been pretty hardcore to try and reproduce in clay, so as i was developing that i also began to create handmade cozmik clay cookies! i like to think they look like mini tombstones for lost triangle warriors.. also, my main lego guy mold is so precarious that legs and arms keep breaking off in production. I have embraced this process and now my warriors are battlescarred! super realistic.. the nuggetwars is being rememberd, good riddence to the fark ages..
this is a work in progress, just thought i would put them up here! next challenge is glazing and perfecting my clay skills!

Mold making!! it ended up being a 4 part mold for now, much easier to open!

First cast of the big 4 part mold! not so bad.. this was after cleaning up a lot, not long after this though his legs broke.. so i had to scrap it!

next cast... cleaned up, lost an arm! but legs holding.. this began my interest in embracing the breaks and scars.. wartorn cosmik warriors... almost like a memorial statue.. they were very brave ;)
love these details! especially the stumpy foot, who knows how he lost it.. but he is a survivor!! more coming soon!
